We kick off the start of our new school year with a Parent Orientation. This is a wonderful opportunity for parents to learn more about our school, the teachers, and the Montessori Program.

These separate evenings are very special nights for the child to enjoy with their mother and father. You will have a chance to come back to the school with your child. Your child will enjoy showing you some of the work they do each day. They are so proud of themselves and ecstatic to have the opportunity to share with you.

My favorite season while growing up on the East Coast was always autumn. I loved the colored leaves and the crispness in the air. Each year I bring a little bit of the East Coast to La Jolla Village Montessori School for the children and the parents to enjoy. We cover the backyard with colored leaves and Snow’s Pony Rides bring in their farm animals for a petting zoo and offers pony rides for the children. All of our families come together to enjoy games, activities, pie and cider. This is a great opportunity to meet other La Jolla Village Montessori families.

In the beginning of June, we all come together as a family to celebrate and honor our children. They have all grown over the past nine months: emotionally, socially and academically. They have become beautiful little scholars who are very proud of the presentation they share with us.

As tradition has it La Jolla Village Montessori School participates in the La Jolla Holiday Parade each year. Two beautiful wagons will be pulled by Clydesdale and Belgian horses. It is so much fun! The children ride in the horse drawn wagons with their teachers while the parents walk along the sides. It is a very festive and memorable day.
